Introduction:

The following image is taken from the visible human project. This is a real body. Using computer technology, we show only the skeleton and the internal structures of the abdomen that are examined during a typical physical exam.

Goals:

• Relate internal structures of the abdomen to key planes and lines

• Relate internal structures of the abdomen to the skeleton

• Integrate this figure with plain x-ray films of the abdomen (“Abdomen and pelvis x-ray”) and the body painting exercise.
